This road is regularly patrolled, has commuter traffic, motorcycle enthusiasts, and bicyclists. For this reason your best time to get a solid run in is at dawn.
Downhill on this can get away from you. First timers are encouraged to travel in the uphill direction.
Virginia City hosts city-wide events at least once a month increasing tourist traffic. Check their events page to make sure your cruise doesn't happen on the same day.
Gas stations are available at the start and also at the end.
Downtown ("C" Street) has lots of fun saloons to grab a bite in.
